Mike & Sally Tuohy live in an earth-sheltered home on the North Oconee River in Jackson County, Georgia. Thanks to the thermal mass of the concrete and soil, the interior temperature stays nearly constant season to season. It is extremely energy efficient, sturdy and low maintenance.
